London Zoo London Reviews

Rubbish - Ok, I will admit from the outset that I had high expectations of London Zoo and have been disappointed with other zoos that clearly do not demonstrate their commitment to animal welfare.

We visited the zoo on a quietish Saturday afternoon so it wasn't too crowded and we were able to do pretty much everything we wanted to during our visit. However, I was extremely disappointed by the quality of the animal habitats and felt that some of the enclosures were not offering what the animals needed. In particular the big cats had relatively empty spaces with a shelter to lie inside and did not appear to have anything to stimulate them.

We were also disappointed that some animals were not there at all, although this may be because we visited out of 'peak season'. The food was expensive ut of decent quality so no complaints there and we did enjoy feeding time with the otters. Overall though for a £50 family day out I would say you could spend your money more wisely elsewhere.

Zooooo not impressed!!!! - Im not a very big fan of zoo s but for a while now Ive really wanted to go to the London Zoo. I have heard some good things about it and being a country girl to the bone I thought it could be nice to be sorrounded by animals and all the noises and smells that comes with it. Unfortunatly the experience wasnt at all what I expected or wanted it to be. With Londoners (and the rest of the world) becoming more and more environmentaly aware and with animal rights improving almost by the day I just thought the London Zoo would have come a bit further. Quite a few of the animals had too small habitats and the poor eals were all tangled up cos their tank wasnt big enough for them to stretch out. Some of the animals being advertised on their leaflets were nowhere to be seen, very disappointed about the non-existing bears, and alot of the living spaces were empty. As usual when going to tourist places like this the food was over priced and so was the entrance fee. £17.99, complete rip off(except from the £1.60 from that amount that goes to charity) The most thrilling about my day in the zoo was the penguins, the gift shop and my good company.
