Great for the 'Spices of Life' - I recently took a group of students from my Yearn2Learn ~'Spices of Life' course on a tour of local grocers where you can easily obtain a vast range of ingredients from around the globe. The newly revamped shop was packed full of delights, the student were astounded by both the impressive selection of goods and the relatively cheap prices (especially for spices, sweets and herbs).
We had a brief introduction to the Halal butchers at the back of the shop; unfortunately there was no-one working in the butchers that could explain in English the different types and cuts of meat but the counter was well stocked and interesting with goat, mutton, lites, and a selection of chicken - whole and jointed. My students really liked discovering the frozen fish freezers and their array of tropical fish, from parrot fish to barracuda. Many left with bags of goodies and plans for future return forays.
