Don't mind that mini chain - I don't remember exactly when Made in Italy on the Kings Rd opened. I remember going there, and who with, but I'll be damned if I remember what year it was.

Anyway, forward however many years it's been and Made in Italy is still there, and it's expanded to open about 5 restaurants, all with different names... nice touch.

Napule is one of the Made in Italy offspring, branded with its trademark blue tiles. Bang on Fulham Broadway, its a great addition to the Fulham restaurant scene bringing good food and service to an almost always full restaurant.

The menu is fairly standard but everything we had was good. Very good in fact. Mussels to start, which came in a light broth. Just salty and garlicy enough and the bread we ordered with them was excellent. Dense and fresh, and accompanied by plenty of butter.

The pizzas are really what the chain is famous for and rightly so. A wood fired oven delivers what I think are some of the best pizza bases in town. Thin and crispy crusts give way to soft centres with well-judged topping in the right quantities... sorry Americans, but there is such a thing as too much cheese.

Napule delivers a bit of spectacle along with the pizzas. If more than one person orders pizza they are served on small trestles which sit on top of your table, saving room and encouraging people to share.

For a chain, albeit a mini one, the Made in Italy group really has hit upon a formula that works. From 100% Italian staff (that I could judge) through to great food, it's a place that you'll keep going back to.... just don't forget to book!
