Tito's serve a variety of sandwiches, snacks and beverages. Peruvian cuisine is somewhat of a undiscovered territory in London, but Tito's aims to fill that gap in the dining experience. In the basement area, diners are invited to enjoy a selection of sandwiches and drinks such as Chica Morada and Inka Cola, whereas on the first floor of this restaurant, you are invited to enjoy a more formal dining experience. Guinea pig, seafood and various vegetarian dishes are all served in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Tito's London Reviews

Perfect Peruvian! - Of all the little-known cuisines deserving of a global reputation Peruvian comes top in my opinion. Just think about Latin American food… most people know about Mexican, or a TexMex approximation, then perhaps Brazilian and Argentinean, but next to nothing about the huge variety of Peruvian dishes.

And there is a huge variety. In fact it has the second largest variety of dishes in Latin America after Mexico, with big regional variation to suit its many climates.

Tito’s near London Bridge does a pretty good job of introducing a good number of those tastes, bar the Amazon basin perhaps. Certainly the coast and mountains are covered with many staples.

Most representative of Peruvian food is Ceviche. It’s found all over Latin America but originated in Peru. Essentially its raw white fish that’s been marinated in lime juice for no more than 10 minutes. Add garlic, chilli, sweet potato and toasted corn to the mix and you have a fine start to the meal, and Tito’s was really pretty good.

Other good starters include both the Papa and Yucca Rellena, stuffed croquets of either potato or cassava, Papa a la Huancaina, boiled potatoes covered in a rich cheese and chilli sauce, and tamales. These too are found all over the Americas and these particular ones deliver a blend of maize meal and peanut, stuffed with pork. All these also hit the mark, particularly when pared with the very authentic Aji, hot sauce, that comes to the table.

With such a tempting range of starters its hard to leave room for a main course but there are many to try. Chupe de Camarones is a great shrimp stew/soup. Creamy, rich and filling, it’s the perfect dish for a cold day though the one I had at Tito’s could have done with a bit more of a fishy flavour, a better stock perhaps.

The Lomo Salteado, sautéed beef and potato, and fried fish dishes also looked great, and all come is very generous portions.

Tito’s was a really welcome break from more usual London eateries, and I’ll certainly go back to try other things. They also host dance nights and live music most weekends.
