Blas is the Gaelic word for taste or flavour, and that is exactly what they want to give you, a taste of the fine flavours of Scotland. Whether it's smoked salmon from an Ullapool smokehouse, Stornoway black pudding or a creamy Ayrshire bonnet goat's cheese Blas takes care to source local produce that will give each dish a true taste of Scotland. Among deceptively simple café-bar décor are a number of sophisticated design touches - creel basket-style light fittings, modern Scots paintings and wallpaper to help to create a smart atmosphere that demonstrates the establishment's intelligent understanding of its cuisine's roots.
