R Garcia & Sons London Reviews

Don't bother. - This place is 5 stars for everything if you speak Spanish, otherwise it's downhill all the way for those who don't! Sad and pathetic.

My 5th july Tapas in Garcia - I had to write a review for this place to warn people – if you are considering eating here, don’t do it.

I went for lunch a few days ago with a colleague and both of us were so disappointed- the food is so bad that not even the friendly service can save it.

We ordered a selection of tapas and I really I’m not fussy about food, but there was something unappetizing about each one- the chicken in garlic and white wine was in fact 2 chicken wings with no meat on them and the 3rd bit was a shade of grey with soft white skin (!), the potatoes were soggy with oil and cold, the salad (which cost nearly £5) was just iceberg lettuce with shredded carrots and the meat balls looked and tasted like they came from a tin.

And top it off we had to hand over £32 (we didn’t even drink anything alcoholic!) for the pleasure of finding out ‘never again’.

There are so many great restaurants just round the corner in the city; this really is not one of them.

The Tapas Bar - Worst service in town.
It's too bad, because it's a nice place, good location, friendly staff members. BUT, when it takes 30 minutes (i'm not exaggerating) to get your water, there's a problem. An hour and a half later, my one order of food arrived, but I had to get it to go, since it had taken so long. She took an additional 20 minutes retrieving my bill. I'll never return.
The Paella was decent, but overpriced. It's very upsetting that this has taken place in such a great town, and near superior ethnic restaurants.
I'll not choose them next time.

Que Rico! - Dedicated delicatessens are wonderful places, regardless of speciality, and Garcia brings a welcome and less usual taste of Europe. When the weather turns foul a quick trip down to Portobello road is sure to bring a bit of Mediterranean sunshine into any kitchen.

Garcia is full of Spanish goods and Spaniards, great for any homesick Iberians in the Capital, or others wanting something to remind them of a holiday en Españia. Top buys have to include smoked paprika and the range of chorizos. You’ll find all sizes of cured chorizos, similar to those you find in a supermarket, but also the less common (in London at least) fresh ones that are great fried, barbequed or sliced into any number of stews.
