Thanks so much Mutual - Thanks so much to all at Mutual driving school. If anyone out there actually reads reviews like i do then this is the driving school for you. I had about 20 lessons with another school, no names B _ M and they were a complete waste of money. My flat mate was having lessons with a someone at Mutual called Sam a few years ago so i gave the office a call. After having 15 hours with Russell at Mutual, the office got me a short notice driving test and i took this test today and passed. They asked me to leave a review good or bad, well there is no complaints from me. Thanks so much to everyone at the office and to Russ, a great guy. If you read this Russ " get out my way" haha. I know you would tell me off for that lol.

Thanks Mutual - Had lessons with a few instructors at mutual over a year until I passed my test. I was very happy with the standard of instruction and really believe that they did everything to help me pass including arranging early tests and ensuring that my test day went smoothly. Although there were a few late arrivals and cancelled lessons over the year these were rare and the service from the office and instructors was always courteous and helpful.

very bad customer service - Sadly my experience with Mutual driving is not good at all. They stood me up 3 times and made useless excuses every time. After the third cancellation on their side they expected I would find a different driving school although they said they would make up for their mistakes by giving me free lesson. Apparently Mutual driving is not interested in making up for caused inconvenience at all. I am very disappointed in them and would not recommend them to any driver who is looking for a refreshers course.

Thanks Mutual Driving School - Thank you very much to Russell for being so patient with me and for giving me confidence to pass my test! I was coming from a different school having failed twice so I was not confident at all with my driving and was making a lot of mistakes. Russell managed to build up my confidence and correct all the mistakes from my previous experience. I always had a substitute if he couldn't make a lesson so I never missed any. Very professional driving school. Thank you Sam for all your help as well!

Highly recommended - The pay-as-you-go concept behind Mutual first attracted me to it and in the long run it guarantees a certain level of service and standard of tuition because they can't fall back on a large up-front payment. This should be reassuring, but sure reassurance isn't really needed. I was a late learner and Mutual's instructors steered me through the learning to drive process with professionalism and skill. The instructors are excellent and they got me through my test, but more importantly they did not teach to the test and I feel a confident, competent driver because of them. I would highly recommend the school to others.

Thumbs up to Mutual Driving School - Just wanted to say a big thanks to Mutual driving school and to my instructor Nathan for getting me through my driving test. Mutual gave me all the confidence i needed and i managed to pass second time round, which is great because i thought it might take me ages. If only Nathan knew that after all the hard work we both put in, im still riding my bike to and from work....lol. Anyway Thanks Mutual

Simply the Best Driving School - Dear Sam at Mutual.
I wanted to take the time to thank you for sorting my driving lessons for me and arranging my early test date as promised.
I came to hear about Mutual Driving School through reading reviews like the one im writing now, so thought it would be fitting to leave a review myself. I had a very tight deadline and needed to pass my driving test within 4 weeks, this was due to work commitments and travel. The owner Sam was very helpful and promised me that he could get me a test date within the 4 week period. After having my initial assesment lesson i felt very comfortable and knew i was with a driving school that would deliver what they promised. My Instructor was very helpful and explained things very clearly and really made me feel at ease. I have to say that after experiencing only a few weeks at Mutual Driving School they certainly deliver what they promise, i could not be any happier. Thanks again to Sam and I hope you received my Thank You card.

A driving school that outshines all - I was recommended to take lessons with Mutual and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. My instructer Dave was incredibly supportive (and patient!) and taught me very, very well indeed. After helping me get over my fear of dual carriageways, with the support of Dave I recently passed first time! :D

The staff are very supportive and will help to accomodate lessons to fit around you, and I would recommend Mutual to anyone looking for good, quality driving lessons :) I especially recommend Dave, and Clifford who are both extremely talented instructers.

The best Driving Instructors around - I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mutual for giving me the BEST driving instructors in Dave and later Cliff who helped me pass my test yesterday with only 10 minors (even though I was a BAG OF NERVES FROM HELL)! Third time lucky! Thank you Graham for so graciously leaving the door open for me to come back…and now onto the Pass Plus with Mutual! I get a discount right???

Passed my test first time!! - Mutual Driving School is great! I passed my test first time with them, after having bad experiences with two other driving schools in the area I tried Mutual and they were great from my first lesson right up until the day of my test, the instructor was really patient with me and filled me with confidence. I passed my test first time with only 4 minor faults which I am told is very good. I would recommend Mutual to anyone who wants to learn to drive.

The best driving school - I had already taken a test with another school and failed, to be honest with the 1st school I thought I was getting good service because it was my first experience driving and did not have anything to compare it to, then when I moved to east London I asked around for a driving school and Mutuals name came up a few times so thought I would give them a go.

After the first lesson I was amazed just how much better the quality of tuition was, I actually walked away from each lesson feeling I have learned something. Pretty soon I was ready to take my test again which I passed, first attempt with Mutual driving school. I would recommend them to anybody specially thanks to Jimmy for helping me get my license.

Mutual are the best!! - After living in East London for 4 years I have taken lessons with at least 3 different driving schools in the area and never really had much joy. The first driving school never turned up, the second one was okay for a while but I felt the instructor kept going over the same stuff, and the third school I booked one lesson only to have it moved at short notice, I took 3 more lessons with them and the instructor was late 2 out of 3 times. So I was just about ready to give up with my driving tuition and get used to being a pedestrian.

That's when a friend told me about Mutual Driving School. They have been around for over 30 years which was a good sign, and from my friend's recommendation coupled with positive feedback I had seen about them online I decided to give them a go.

My first lesson went smoothly and I immediately called the office when I got home to arrange some more lessons for the following few weeks. By this point my driving was not bad but I had started to develop a few bad habits. My instructor pointed these out on my first lesson and over the next couple of weeks we worked on those so that in the end I felt confident enough to start thinking about my test. I failed one test previously before coming to Mutual which I think was largely down to nerves. I now have a test booked for next week and I can honestly say that I am full of confidence as Mutual have instilled that in me.

Overall I found Mutual to be by far the best driving school in the area based on the ones I have been with. If there was an option on here to give them 6 out of 5 I definitely would.

Thank you Mutual!! - I recently booked a course of 10 driving lessons as a christmas present for my daughter. I phoned Mutual and spoke to a lady at the office who was very helpful, I explained that my daughter would probably be a bit nervous as she has never driven a car before, but she reassured me that she would be well looked after. After her first lesson she was very pleased and said that she was already looking forward to her next lesson. On the second lesson I spoke to her instructor Clifford who seemed like a very nice man. This put my mind at ease and my daughter continued to take her lessons. She has now finished her course of 10 lessons and is progressing very well, she has even booked up some more lessons herself and is looking to hopefully get a test around the end of March.

I was so pleased with Mutual that I even decided to book a couple of refresher lessons myself, as it has been nearly 10 years since I have been behind the wheel! However I must say after just finishing my first lesson that it is already starting to come back to me, my instructor Murad eased me back into it at a pace that I felt comfortable with, first driving me to an area which was less busy so that we could work on the roads with less distractions, and by the end of the lesson I even felt confident enough to drive home!

I would like to say a HUGE thank you to Mutual, both for looking after my daughter and for helping me regain my confidence myself. I would recommend them to anyone looking to start learning how to drive as they are excellent at making you feel at ease.

Number 1 Driving School - I have been driving on and off for 15 years but for some reason I have never had the incentive to continue my lessons. I started my lessons with Mutual Driving School at the beginning of January, previous to that in November / December I was with another driving school and left to join Mutual. After 2 or 3 lessons, for the very first time I started to enjoy driving. I never felt like this with the other driving schools. Mutual driving school was able to get me a test for the 5th of February, I was grateful for that because I had only joined them in January.

Yes, you've guessed it, I went on to pass my test. Looking back on my experience I am not saying the other driving schools weren't okay, they just didn't give me the incentive that Mutual Driving School did, with a minimum amount of lessons and getting a test so soon. I would highly recommend Mutual to anybody reading this review. My instructor was Russell, I also had one lesson with another instructor called Les. I would recommend any of these instructors but especially Russell, who was helpful throughout and just gave me that incentive that I needed. I now just need to get myself a car!!!

selfish money making school - the instructors try to convince you for a 2 hrs lesson which of 1/2 hr to get to the place where they train and 1/2 hr to get back which means only 1 hr of learning but they will charge you of 2 hrs, anyway when a friend booked my test as a present they were very upset and they said i was told that i was not ready and i needed another 20 lessons which was just over £400, [remainder deleted]

Excellent driving school - I recently took lessons with Mutual Driving School and successfully passed my test at the first attempt.

I was so impressed with the quality of tuition you could tell they know thier stuff. I tried other driving schools in the area but was not satisfied with the level of tuition because I felt that the instructor kept going over the same things and I was not learning anything new.

With Mutual I actually went away from each lesson feeling as though I had learned something and each lesson built up my confidence that little bit more until I felt I was ready to take my driving test.

On the day of my test understandably I was nervous but I was surprised to pass first time. I would like to say a big thank you to Stewart my instructor and also all of the staff at Mutual for helping me get through my test at the first attempt. I have already recommended Mutual to a couple of my friends and would strongly recommend them to anyone looking to take Driving lessons in East London.

Wow Passed!!! Thanks Mutual - I took my driving test with you just before New Year and was so happy to go into January with my Driving Licence.....
When i first contacted you back in May 2007 i was a little unsure as you was slightly outside my area and also a few pound more than others as well, however i decided to give it a go as you sounded ideal.
My first assesment lesson went very well and was told initially i needed around 25 hours. This was around what i expected, so far so good.
All my lessons arrived on time and all 25 lessons, apart from once when my instructor was sick was all with the same person. This is vital i think when learning to drive.
The office administration is fantastic, i work in customer service and have to say that my telephone calls were always answered and the staff are very friendly and very prompt in contacting me with test dates available.
I had some problems with my theory test at first and kept failing the hazard part, at mutual they dont do theory training, however they offered to spend some time with me at their offices FREE OF CHARGE and show me how to succeed on this section. I must say, after this i was a pro ha ha.
I would certainly recommend them to you and have to all my friends as well. Try and ask for a guy called Nathan when you book, he was my teacher and was everything i expected in an instructor and also was very funny. He made me feel at ease on my lessons and was not only teaching me everything i needed to know but also was making me feel comfortable and filling me with confidence. I think if you have confidence then that is half the battle won.
I hope you all have a good experience like me.
Thanks
Ruksana

Excellent Driving School - I have just passed my driving test and as always i think its good to leave a review and to tell others of your experiences.

I had been taking lessons with another school previous and just could not get the hang of this driving thing.... I decided to look for another driving school and along came Mutual driving school to save the day. I have to say i was about to give up driving and get back to London Transport, for all my sins.

Anyway i eventually had my assesment lesson with Mutual driving school and it turned out that i was better than i thought and they believed i just need confidence in my driving. So i took around 15 lessons with them and put in for my test, and passed.....

I took my test at Barking test centre if this helps anyone and this was a good centre for me and recommended by my instructor. There was no big roundabouts either (well i did not go on any) and i was so worried about them.

If you are looking fot a local school that will give you good quality driving lessons then i would give mutual the thumbs up.

My teacher was called Russell and i would suggest asking for him, for me he was great. A good instructor and very friendly....

Thanks Mutual, your the best
