Breakfast of champions - This is the thing I miss about living in Brixton the most. My boyfriend lived round the corner from here and we would stroll down at 4 to get an all day breakfast. This is not just any breakfast – well, it’s a modified fry-up that goes under the name of Caribbean breakfast. You get scrambled eggs, beans, plantain, sausages (halal turkey) and sourdough bread. I used to have mine with vegetarian sausages instead of meat and my boyfriend had salad instead of beans. Actually we used to go there so much, it got to the point where the staff there stopped asking what we wanted and just brought us our breakfasts. Sweeet. Although I warn you now, this is a gigantic breakfast and will pretty much fill you up for the day.

They do a mean guiness punch as well – if you’ve never had one, why not?! You can’t drink a lot of it, but it is so lovely.

It used to be closed for August Bank Holiday Weekend because the owners do carnival, but I don’t know if that’s still the case. 09-10-08
