id want more for the money - Went on a Sunday evening, we sat in the more casual/cool part near the bar where you share tables. The setting was cool and waiters were well informed about their place and the menu. I was disappointed to see that there was little variety for me as a vegetarian. My foodie boyfriend had the mussels to start, he loved them! I had a grilled courgette salad, with very few courgettes. Then i had a pasta, flavour not exciting but i was happy that there was lots of veggies in the dish. Boyfriend had lamb with broad beans, he was, again, happy with it though the beans were a bit salty. My other two friends had the shrimp, they cleaned their plates. For after dinner, we ordered a brownie; it came with a nice little scoop of some nut flavoured ice cream, but the brownie was a bit dry. Boyfriend's Calvados was served over a warm glass of water - something fancy about letting it steam for more flavour - he was, again, happy. My and my friend's port, on the other hand, was much too warm.
Overall - its a nice place, somewhat trendy, but for the cost - I would expect more.

Awesome food, location, atmosphere - I thought it was well worth the hype - the menu was wonderful and the food divine. I really loved being able to see the hustle in the kitchen! Undistracting though, with lovely ambient lighting and music in the rest of the restaurant. They've got the atmosphere and fit out absolutely spot on.

Only downer was the service. We had a fairly long wait to be seated despite being on time for our booking, and mid meal the staff were... staff... where are the staff???

I'd definitely head back for the fabulous pork and groovy feel of the place.

Great brunch place - The Electric is a great brunch place or a evening cocktail meetup in the 'hood. Saturdays are especially fun to sit and stare out into the mess of Portabello road marketplace. Nice eggs benedict and mojitos.
