Markets in London - Brixton
Coldharbour Lane , Brixton, London, SW9 8PS
+44 (0) 20 7274 2990

This famous market is part of an exciting regeneration programme involving arts projects and special events, offering a fantastic variety of international food, from Asia, the West Indies, Africa and South America, including dried fish, plantain, yams, dried herbs and giant snails. Three fresh fish shops sell exotic fish from the Caribbean, Indian and Icelandic oceans. This spacious and airy 1930's building also has a music shop selling gospel and reggae, a tattoo studio, African textiles, Chinese herbal medicine, jewellery, fashion and vintage clothes.

Brixton Village London Reviews

Vibrant, coulourful and relaxed - I love Brixton Market. I find everything here, literally everything. I get amazing food from all over the world and it is quite cheap too... Plantain bananas and mangoes, I just love it!

Especially I like to have a walk with friends around Brixton Village. This is a part of the market with just recently opened part of the market with community style restaurants, galleries, young designers stores... My favourite places are Brixton Cornercopia, with amazing home made food and a Sweet Tooth shop. Sweet Tooth shop is a paradise place for a child in me. They have all sorts of sweets from around the world (also traditional retro), attractive jewellery, Evoke bags... They also organise free creative workshops for children and adults.
