Cheap, quick and tasty: a local gem - Speedy Noodle is very basic to look at: tiled from floor to ceiling, no-nonsense formica tables - its very much a canteen rather than a restaurant, in the style of similar chinese eateries I've seen in Singapore and Malaysia. Clean and quick and above all cheap, this noodle bar is the real thing. Head on to Brixton for a spot of market shopping and when you've had your fill of crowds and noise, go into Speedy Noodle and order one of literally dozens of choices starting at an amazing £3.10 for a sit down meal! I went yesterday and had king prawns with black bean sauce served with noodles - a delicious meal for £4.10. It was fantastic and I think a trip to Brixton for shopping and lunch at Speedy Noodle will for me long continue to be a cherished local routine.
