Cafe Maja London Reviews

Borsch, goulash and metal chains - Today we went to the Polish Cultural Centre in Hammersmith to see a theatre production from our fatherland. We were sooo excited but unfortunately we came one month too early. None of us had a look at the exact date:)
Not to waste that great day and to cultivate our cultural identity, we went to the Cafe Maja which is inside the centre. The place is really nice and offers a wide selection of Polish cuisine. Our hearts and minds were in Poland while consuming traditional borsch and goulash. Food was tasty and the vibe of 'milk bars' (Polish fast foods) from the seventies was still intensive... The only difference was that spoons and forks were not affixed to tables with metal chains anymore (popular Polish method of reducing cutlery stealing).
Because of localisation, the place presents wide dimension of my native reality- so while having 'sernik' (delicious cheese cake), you can have a look at our 'national treasures' gathering in front of the building. Good sociological and culinary experience at the same time!
