Lovely cottages - We had heard that Hall Hills had been named self-catering holiday of the year by Cumbria Tourism so we had high expectations. Jude and Tim Walker didn't let us down. Their cottages (5 altogether now) are well-designed, decorated and equipped. A real sense of luxury in such an attractive location. Handy not just for the Lake District but also some other very interesting parts of Cumbria that we had overlooked before.

A great holiday!

A gem close to the Lake District - The Walkers have pulled off a triumph - a beautiful house, lovingly converted combining home touches with hotel quality. We loved it and can't wait to come back.

Getting away from it all - We were really surprised to find such a lovely and such a peaceful spot above a little stone bridge looking out across the Cumbrian countryside. We certainly didn't regret going for self-catering accommodation at Hall Hills. The fact that it wasn't in the National Park was probably a plus: far from the crowds but close enough to the lake district to be conveniently situated, and it would have been hard to find a self-catering holiday home with such lovely decor, and so well equipped. We felt so lucky to find Hall Hills. We will certainly be coming back.
