Chop'd London Reviews

Annoying - So I went here with an open mind, well at least I tried to - the branding for this place is that cheesy, trying to be hip and down with the kids and 'anyway you want it' but it just smacks of Coffee Republic selling salads.

Anyway I thought I'd give it a go, I went to the counter and asked for a large salad and was told that they only do one size of salad which is odd seeing as on the board above here it said that a small salad was £3.50 and the large was £5.50 - no problems I wanted a large anyway.

You basically get to choose a base (pasta, noodles or leaves) then 3 deli items (corn, peppers etc) and then 1 topping (chicken, tuna) - it all seemed pretty straight forward until I asked for a base of green leaves and was told

'oh they're 50p extra'
'but I thought I could choose any base?'
'yeah you can just those leaves aren't included'
'riiiiiiiiiiight'

Ugh ok so I had the expensive leaves and some corn, sun dried tomatoes and brocoli - I asked if I could have a tiny bit of onion and she said thats fine, thats an extra 25p (she put the onions in before I could say no thanks). When it came to the topping I asked what were the hot options and she said 'no thats a different salad' - at this point I'm drunk - you can have anything you want, except that thing you want which is extra! What!

Anyway, next you choose a dressing and then they put it into a salad bowl and mix it all up which I thought was a good touch. The salad came to £6 which was maybe pricey but at least they forgot to charge me for the onions.

I walked away thinking how much I hate it when companies pretend to be cool and hip and you're friend and happy to go out of their way to help you find what you want but as soon as you step out of their comfort zone they're no different from the ones that don't pretend to be your friend - fair weather.

Anyway I got back to the office and the salad was actually really tasty but unfortunatly it couldn't mask the unpleasant taste left in my mouth by the actual store - I doubt I'll come back.
