BrewDog Brewery Aberdeen Reviews

Perhaps the Best Beer in the World - I love beer! I have been drinking micro-brewery beer (micro-brew) since university in Seattle, which is arguably the ‘home’ of micro-brew. These days Portland is probably better and many other US cities are also pretty awesome (e.g. San Diego, Denver). So when I moved to the UK 5 years ago I was pretty aghast at the homogeneity and blandness of most Ales available at London pubs (don’t even get me started on the Lager). Needless to say I missed amazing, flavorful beer pretty badly. In fact I switched to wine for a full 2 years. So one day not long ago I discovered BrewDog, a new, innovative micro-brewery based in Scotland that is doing some amazing things with beer. I’m going to nick some copy from their website because it pretty much tells the story, and far better than I can…

Beer was never meant to be bland, tasteless and apathetic.

At BrewDog we are setting the record straight.

We are committed to making the highest quality beers with the finest fresh natural ingredients.

Our beers are in no way commercial or mainstream.

We do not merely aspire to the proclaimed heady heights of conformity through neutrality and blandness.

We are unique and individual.

A beacon of non-conformity in a increasingly monotone corporate desert.

We are proud to be an intrepid David in a desperate ocean of insipid Goliaths.

We are proud to be an alternative.

Now for my Tips: drink the Punk IPA for sure, it’s their flagship and, it tastes like IPA is supposed to taste, very hoppy. Then with meals or with friends, because they’re really strong, try the Hardcore IPA, a double version of the Punk; all the Paradox’s which are aged in Whiskey barrels (my favourite was the one aged in a Grain (Bourbon) barrel); and the Rip Tide and Tokyo Stouts.

And remember to drink responsibly ;-)
