Gourmet Burger Kitchen London Reviews

Absolute beasts - I usually come here when I have the buy one main meal get one free voucher, otherwise it works out as rather expensive.

The first time I came, I had the chilli beef burger and was rather disappointed to find that it was more like sweet chilli. Still, the burger itself wasn't bad. The second time I opted for the Habenero burger, which was pretty much the same; sweet, sticky sauce without a hint of heat. My burgers were also cooked to well-done, when I was told they would be medium.

The fries are very good, as is the Homeslaw; pleasingly it isn't dressed with mayo. Be warned; you will leave absolutely stuffed as the burgers are on the large side - a portion of chips to share is quite enough.

Come on, GBK - sort your chillis out!

Always Hits the Spot! - OK, so GBK might be a chain restaurant but it is definitely one of the gooduns. The burgers are nicely cooked, the buns are 'proper hamburger buns' and they are generous with the sauces. Despite the name, it's not the most 'gourmet' burger you will ever eat but it still delivers, consistently, which counts for a lot. You know exactly what you are going to get. The chips are also good and the smoked chilli mayo has become a mild addiction. I like my burger with a large glass of Tempranillo.

Burger heaven - It was must first time at GBK, a burger chain which a good friend namechecks as her favourite (I've always been a Hamburger Union girl myself). They're offering 2-1 mains until early jan (voucher on their website) so we thought we'd try it out.

It was really busy but we didn't have to wait long for a table. The staff are generally friendly and they're not fussed if you want to have extra things or ingredients removed etc, etc.

The best thing about GBK is that you can get junior burgers - although mine was just a burger in bread - no tomatoes or relish :(

Their burgers tend to fall apart so definitely cut them in half before eating.

Milkshakes get a 7/10 but they are massive - but we Brits know that size isn't everything ;)
