Following Traditions - I've recently taken to trying "new" things at the weekend.
Every fortnight I like to experience something new(within a reasonable price range). Its usually a food Ive never tried or some type of sport that I've never attempted before.
This time it was a Gentlemens' tradition. I booked a Hot Towel Wet Shave at the Oldest Barber shop in the world(I figured they should know best).
I was greeted by my Barber (Dennis) who was very warm and welcoming. He took me through varying processes asking me about my shaving routine and seemingly taking a genuine interest in my shaving habits (I had been inadvertently shaving against the grain on a part of my face) before commencing with my shave. He was very gentle and confident which smoothed over any apprehension that I had from the loud mouthed Female barber who was chatting away to my left.
The atmosphere was good overall and the service and quality of products felt excellent.
I was glad that I had one of the more traditional Barbers(older) as I don't think it would have felt so authentic had it been with one of the younger barbers who in the time that I observed didn't seem to take things as seriously.
Overall I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to try something a little different.
