Mr Chow has sister restaurants in both New York and Beverly Hills and was set up here in the 60s. The food comes highly recommended, service is professional and the decor better than your usual Chinese restaurant. They can also cater for vegetarians and vegans and accept private parties of up to 75 people.

Mr Chow London Reviews

avoid mr chow london - avoid at all costs!

i was utterly abused and humiliated when i took my parents and sister to Mr chow in London. After fine experiences in LA and NY, i decided to try the London address a couple of weeks ago.

I never opened the menu. when the maitre d' came, i ordered crispy duck for four. The maitre d', Marcelo, said he would arrange some openers and bring my duck after that. instead, he forced 8 plates upon us, refused to take back the extra prawns and steak which i never ordered but he served nonetheless and gave me a doggy bag with my crispy duck (which i never touched, obviously).

terrible experience!

Delicious posh Chinese - Went to Mr Chow's last night for the first time and have to say that I absolutely loved it. Called at the last minute and was able to secure a reservation for the evening which was surprising. Arrived and had a very friendly maitre d' seat us immediately.

My dining companion had been to several different Mr. Chow's so was well versed at the menu, therefore I let him order with a few suggestions from a very helpful waiter.

The squab starter is fantastic and fun to eat wrapped in lettuce leaves (I'm a fan of interactive food). Our dumplings were also cooked to perfection, fried to just the right crispiness.

For our mains we opted for the crispy beef and nine spice prawns. The beef was spicy and delicious while the prawns were large and juicy. The side dish, spicy green beans, were also excellent.

Since it was a Sunday night we seemed to have missed most of the paparazzi, but my date does swear that Danny Glover was sitting at a table when we walked out so perhaps the star sightings are true.

All in all, I will definitely be back. The food and service was great. It is a bit pricey for Chinese food, but well worth it.

Posh nosh and paparazzi - This is a great restaurant with an interesting legacy. It was apparently big with the fashion set in the Sixties and is still a bit of a celeb haunt. I spent the evening there with ten friends for a hen night-we get Simon Cowell's favourite table so says the Maitre D-and the food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Im not usually a fan of Chinese but this was divine. No need to order, they will just bring you good food! beware though, the bill for bottled water alone came to nearly £100. While the food was roughly £30 per person, wine and water is very expensive.-fine to pay for booze but was a shock to pay through the nose for good old fashioned water. Paris Hilton and friends were sitting behind us and the paparazzi were waiting outside...they werent interested in any of us hens though obviously we would have been happy to have our picture taken! great for a glam and stylish night out.
