Kensal Green Cemetery London Reviews

Grave mistake to miss - This 70 acre cemetery is a haven of peace and quiet, a wildlife sanctuary, an open air sculpture park and a three dimensional record of the great and good of the 19th century. Just about anyone who was famous in Victorian England is buried here.

To really learn about the place, and the people buired there, go on one of the Sunday afternoon tours. They take two hours and start from the Anglican Chapel in the centre of the cemetery. The tour price, of about £5, includes a visit to the catcomb (on some days) a two hour walk round the graves of the famous and infamous followed by fresh coffee, or tea, and biscuits at the Dissenters' Chapel & Gallery. The gallery holds exhibitions throughout the year, check web site first.
