Opened in 1898 as Hussey & Co, and apart from the name change in the 1970's, George Street Gallery has continued as a bespoke picture framers and art gallery to this day. In 1997 the business was in danger of closing, but was rescued and lovingly restored by its present owner. Some of the original machinery is still in use, including the MORSO cutting machine, dating from 1950. The building is early Georgian dating from 1780. It is Grade 2 listed and boasts rare mathematical tiles to the front elevation.
