Cheap ale & cheap customer service from staff especially the older female member. She is nasty & does not own any people skills. Shame really cos it's a nice traditional pub in great location. Myself & friends giggle watching her 'chew that wasp' when we pop in. Once you get over the ZERO customer service with a smile tradition & except the no complaints policy (regardless what it is), then it's a nice little pub!

Very nice traditional english pub that serves really nice beers and is kept clean. Ideal location in the heart of the city and worth a visit occasionally.. There are only 2 negatives but they can affect how you view the comfort and experience you get when you go to the Midland. Firstly there is a very high staff turnover and secondly the manageress can be extremely rude and has a nasty tongue on occasions which is a shame but maybe that illustrates why the staff never stay too long.. When the manageress learns to treat EVERYONE with respect it would be a great little pub, but for now guess we,ll have to wait a year or two until she retires..Her husbands not a bad bloke though and works hard, feel sorry for him actually.
