Saints Hairdressers Newcastle Reviews

Bought a groupon and rang to change my appointment as i was sick. The girl was arranging a new date for me and then when she found out it was with groupon she refused to change the date so i lost my money. There was nothing in the small print to state there were different policies for regular customers and groupon customers so presuming they were just being awkward. Will stay clear in the future as very bad customer service.

Best haircut ever - First visit to Saint's via Groupon voucher for cut and deep conditioning yreatment. Soooo pleased with results, great head massage, condition is fab, cut is brilliant, highly recommend Scott, especially as one thing stands out. He showed me how to dry and style my hair, so I can get the same look at home. Can't remember getting that at other hairdressers. Booked my next appointment before I left, it's a bit of a hike (I live up near Druridge Bay), but it's worth it. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Sinners Made Welcome! - I'm a 62 year old, old rock chick and had a fab time at Saints. I'd never been before but bought a 'Groupon' coupon for a half head of highlights, cut & blow dry.

My hair is long, layered and blonde which I use a home permanent colour on and the options available were comprehensively discussed with my colourist.

He advised using lowlights in darker shades, which had occurred to me but I wasn't too sure if it would work, however, the advice offered was very honest and professional and for an extra £15 went for extra lowlights. Then my hair was styled by John who took off about an inch but still left plenty of length for my headbanging activities! I am extremely happy with the end results and found the staff to be friendly and chatty in a lovely salon with a great atmosphere - I could have stayed all day but had to dash for a bus home - plus I was gasping for a ciggie! I will certainly be back again as it's rare to find a salon where you are made so welcome and treat like an old friend.

Excellent haircut and colouring - I am a 39 year old Londoner male and came down to Necastle on the weekend of 18/19th October to run the Great North Run. Being a big event for me, a had a spur of the moment thought of getting a revitalised look. So after seeing reasonable reviews on here, I called for an appointment on the day (a Saturday) and got one in the afternoon. My hairdresser was Jo, who discussed what I wanted and then suggested a style that would suit, explaining it clearly in detail. I liked the idea. I had a full head colouring of black. Parts were bleached on top for red tones. The cut was cool with a jagged front hair over forehead style. I had grey hairs in front but all that was coloured and even when the hair grows the hair style still covered the greys. Jo was professional, and delivered the style right for me within the margins of what I wanted. The length of time was surpisingly short, about 1.5hrs. The hair washed, though no massage. Not bothered with head message anyway. The cost was £90 which I found great value.

GREAT - I went to Saints for the first time and I am absolutely happy with them! The environment is super nice, the music is good, the staff is friendly and professional. Laura cut my hair and she is great. Perfect style. I will be back.

you wont be disappointed - I have been going to Saints for over 10years and have never had a bad experience. Jo (female) has cut and coloured my hair and i have never left the Salon unhappy. I would definately recommend Saints, the Staff are all Friendly and veruy professional they listen to what you want and dont just start cutting and get you out as fast as they can.

Lovely Salon - I've been going to Saints for nearly 3 years now after buying one of those town centre deal things. Laura always cuts my hair and not only listens to what I want but is completely honest about what she can achieve (I have crazy thick hair). She always talks through the options properly with me and thinks about the long term future of my hair and what I want to do with it next and how this will affect it.

Not only is Laura brilliant, but the rest of the staff are dead friendly and the music is always good (and the cups of tea are decent sized and plentiful!)

They will also always do a free fringe trim for me (a bonus when you sport a long blunt fringe...).

Thoroughly recommended.

A good experience - Just want to share my experience of this hair salon which is currently ticking all the right boxes for affordability, great cuts and an excellent customer focused approach. This was my second visit and like the first time, I was made warmly welcome, properly consulted with regard to what I wanted, and left with a sylish cut from a team I'm happy to recommend. Check staff and customer hair cuts when you walk in to know what kind of a decent deal you are going to get, the attitude is great and the salon's current recession bashing deals with vouchers, two for one and the amazing standby offer (call after 9am or 3pm and they will book you in for £15.00)ensures that this is one city centre salon that won't leave you out in the cold, no matter how tough the recession weather gets (and no, I'm not a staff member or a friend, I'm just a punter with a part time wage in my pocket who's had a positive experience I am happy to share).

response to 'dont go' - hi my name is john, i own saints, and i know quite alot about this particular client. the stylist who normally did the clients hair was actually off sick, and we tried in vain to reach her regarding this.
we charged her the price she would normally pay for the sick stylist, with a more experienced member of staff.
the price quoted, correctly by a receptionist, was for a full head semi permanent red 'rinse' as the client called it when she phoned. at that time no mention of her full head, permanent, almost black home hair colour made. obviously, this makes a semi probably pointless, certainly a red one, as it wouldnt lift the color, but we only can quote from the information given to us by the client.
when the client came in, our stylist spent 15 mins consulting with her, and said a full head red was not straightforward, involving prelightening and colour correcting, and was quoted accordingly. at this time cheaper options such as partial or slices of color were suggested but the client insisted she wanted full head or nothing.
throughout the haircut, our stylist did 2 strand tests to check the lightening capabilities of the hair, they didnt budge at all. this result was after the haircut, so how could the stylists attitude have affected the haircut, she may still have had the color?
i saw the client and her sister in the salon, no impression was given that she was unhappy, we even briefly chatted about the difficulties of home coloring build up on the hair.
2 weeks after the visit the client phoned me saying she wasnt happy.. surely if you are this unhappy 2 weeks is a long time to wait? never the less i offered her money back or to come in with another stylist or myself to have a haircut or advice on how to proceed.. both suggestions were rebuffed, and i was disappointed with this, as happy clients are the only thing that makes our business successful.
i am sure my stylist did as much to please this client as possible, and whilst im unhappy that we have an obviously dissatified customer, i am confident we did everything possible to please her on the day, and make amends when she complained. i hope she finds a salon that meets her expectations in the future.

dont go - well I have been to saints (central station)for my hair done around 5 times and everytime had the same stylist, she was great and done exactly what i asked, unfortunatly she went on maternity leave and another stylist done my hair, she gave me a wrong quote when i first booked the app as i wanted a full head colour and was quoted £60 for the coulour and £30 for the cut, when i got to my app she gave me completely different price of £130 and told me i would be in the hairdressers all day, i only wanted a red rinse! she then proceeded to cut my hair inbetween colouring another customers hair and chatting to a coleauge, she cut it terribly and took no notice at all while she was chopping my style in i usually have a funky bob with a choppy fringe but ended up lookin like a cross between rod stewart and liam gallagher, i dont think she was happy with me for declining the colour!! anyway my hair is a disgrace and i will never grace those walls again!! be warned.......
