don’t mess with Perfection - I went here the other day and they had some stickers all over the windows announcing their 30th birthday. I was with my mum and she was saying that we've been coming here pretty much since I was born which felt awesome to be in a restaurant that's almost exactly as old as yourself.

The decor has been the same ever since they opened, lots of wicker, nice earthernware plates and salt and pepper pots and the whole vibe is healthy rather than hippy.

I always have the exact same thing because you just don’t mess with perfection. Large plain waffle (it's savoury) with ham, cheese and mushrooms and a chocolate milkshake. I don't know what they put in the milkshakes but they're the best I've ever had and I've tasted a lot of milkshakes.

Sometimes if I've got room left over I'll have a chocolate mousse with cream which is heart attack heaven but oh so good.

I can't believe that these guys haven't become massive and there isn't a waffle house on every corner of the country but you know what? I'm glad they've stayed small - like I said you don’t mess with perfection. 30-12-08
