More Video than Voice - When this first opened it was the biggest music shop in Ipswich. Three floors of music with a few videos for good measure. If you were looking for a particular piece of music you were almost certain to find it. Then along came DVD and a row of DVDs appeared. This was the time that there were only about 500 DVDs available, and they seemed to have them all.
Since then DVDs have been taking over. There are still a lot of CDs available, compared to what Ipswich used to have, but DVDs. They're everywhere. Other than chart CDs music has been relegated to the rather gloomy back of the store, except for some that can be found amongst the DVDs on the first floor. It all seems a bit of a mess. Three sales floors, you'd think you could have all the CDs together! Other HMV's seem to be better arranged.
So a great place to find a DVD, not what it used to be for music.
