Tas EV London Reviews

Amazing, fresh, delicious - My favourite place in South London at the moment. Fresh gorgeous Turkish food, the 5 salad bar with fresh bread is out of this world. Amazing selection of deli items too.

EV 4 EVer - EV is a hidden other world to visit on a lunch break, non-pretentious atmosphere and excellent flavours under the arches, just behind Southwark Station.

Let me talk about Ev, not TAS - a sister restaurant next door.

Terrific selection of Turkish/Mediterranean salads, which fill up easily despite being very light. This choice gives me a headache, I always want to eat it all but usually stick to kisir ( nuts, onion, tomatos, cous-cous), borek ( spinach and thick yoghurt) and houmus..everything is juicy, well-seasoned and takes your perception to a different level. In the summertime - have a sit in the garden. . .
All food is vegetarian, bread is fresh - Ev have their own bakery.
+ Turkish coffee + some cake (tiramisu is great!)
+ Deli - teas,turkish sweets,beans,nuts, chesses, spice,wine!
Staff are quick and polite and pretty and handsome.

For £3.5 I'm Full and happy!GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY!

Mezelicious - EV is a bar attached to the chain of Turkish Tas restaurants - there's a few around London. There's three separate parts to this particular one - a deli, restaurant and bar.

Ev (the bar) is a good place with character and a friendly atmos a step away from sometimes lifeless Waterloo. It's in the railway arches under Southwark. The combination of curved wood beams across the ceiling, pebbles and mosaics in the wall and the odd water feature make it seem a little like a swimming pool or a spa - but in a good way. The room is quite big but doesn't feel empty even with only a few people in the early evening; it fills up nicely too.

A great draw of this place is obviously the meze platters - well priced big plates with loads of different bits to try. When you order a platter the waiters will bring you plenty of hot fresh bread too, and should you run out, they'll just keep bringing it (as a bit of a bread fiend, I was happy with this). Vegetarians will be happy with what's on offer here, there are loads of options. There's a fairly good array of drinks here too, including the popular Turkish Efes beer. The staff are lovely - attentive but not intrusive - spot on.

If you're in the area, ev is definitely worth stopping off at a while, and you may find yourself staying longer too, there's so much to try.
