Perfect on a sunny day - Regent's Park has got to be one of the most beautiful parks in the world espeically this time of year when the tulips and cherry blossoms have bloomed. And sitting at The Garden Cafe on a sunny afternoon before/after a stroll thru the various flower gardens in the park is an added bonus. It's not called The Garden Cafe for nothing.

Nestled in the inside circle near the Queen's Rose Gardens and the outdoor theatre, The Garden Cafe has both a quick counter-order cafe menu and then a sit down menu. We opted for the sit down menu sitting in their garden. Not a huge choice on the menu, but they focus on seasonal cuisine: soup of the day; waldorf salad; artichoke and lentil bruchetta; Ploughman's Platter (which I had); and some meat dishes like roasted chicken with leek risotto. You can do 2 courses for £12 or three for £17. The food is decent but you're really going for the lovely atmosphere. And it's kid friendly for all you mums and dads looking for a place to have a nice lunch with the kiddies. 23-04-09
