Nice little place - Fab cafe is, deceptively enough, a bar. But it's also a kind of memorabilia museum. There are display windows all around, with annuals, toys, posters and other stuff from sci-fi programs and the 80s. If you've ever owned one of those snap-on wristbands, or a t-shirt that changes colour when you breath on it, there's a chance there's something in here that you used to own (or maybe you still own it...).
It looks really cool inside and there's loads of interesting stuff to look at. Which is actually bad for me, because I have an attention span that can only be measured in nanoseconds. For instance I've been writing this review for 3 hours, and I've only just finished the second paragraph.
There are also a few arcade games around and a foozball table. I like foozball and it can be fun in a 4-player game. Arcade games I'm not so sure about, I think they're a bit anti-social but could be useful on nights when it's more quiet. The best nights to go are Friday and Saturday (of course), but I think it's cheaper on the other nights.
One of the regulars here is none other than Star Wars's Darth Maul. He's so predictable, always standing in the same place every night. I always go over to say hi. We often try to stare each other out, that's quite fun. I haven't managed to beat him yet, but I'm hopeful.
There's also this little seating area in the corner, away from the dancefloor and bar. This is a useful place to hide if you attempt to proposition a girl on the dancefloor, only to fail in an embarrasing and obvious way. Not that this has ever happened to me, and definitely not last Saturday night.
It's worth going on a Fri and Sat, popular with students you'd love it if you like sci-fi or 80s tv.
