Dreadful place - avoid - When this opened I thought it was perfect - nice decor, nice atmosphere, nice mix of snacks/drinks/cakes and very laid back. Food not that great but a good drinks list so can't wish for everything.

I've recently been having health problems and its comfy seating was also perfect for someone recovering from hip surgery. Which, as you might imagine, is pretty miserable at any age but for a young person suddenly not being able to go out to bars etc because sitting is a problem is a double whammy. Until - one of their serving staff took exception to me sitting with my bad leg up on their sofa (with my coat underneath so as to not get shoes on their furniture). Basically I was told I would be better off at home as it wasn't the appropriate "look" for their cocktail bar.

It's not a cocktail bar, it's a cafe with a licence, with pretensions, and staff who will happily offend customers and break disability legislation.

Plenty of better places in Edinburgh, if you want somewhere similar near by try the Traverse Bar.
