One step up from IKEA - Dwell is a good alternative for those who don’t want to mess with the torturous crowds in IKEA. They have contemporary furniture at really reasonable prices and you can order online and have it delivered for a small fee. The hard part is putting together some of the pieces which is no different than IKEA. But they also sell a lot of homeware accessories that do not require assembly. We’ve purchased a 6 person dark wood dining room table that expands to 10 which is great to have in a space-constrained London flat and recently a white lacquer TV console. We’re very happy with both purchases and if we don’t like them in a few years or want to re-decorate our flat, we won’t feel bad for paying too much.
