Le Pain Quotidien London Reviews

The Daily Bread - Le Pain Quotidien started as (as the name suggests) a bakery in Brussels back in the 1980's. It now has a string of restaurants across 10 countries.

This is a warm and inviting place, with the rustic charm of a country kitchen, yet is somehow modern.

The food is wholesome and healthy, specialising in 'tartines', which is the french word for open sandwich. The fillings include smoked salmon, tuna, cheese and many more.

There are also soups, main course salads and many more delicious dishes on the menu, all of which come at very good prices (main size salad is about £9).

Since their origins are in baking, it's worth going for a tartine or any baked goods as it is all freshly made in their stone ovens (definitely some of the best bread you'll have in London).

The atmosphere is buzzy but relaxed and if you are stuck on somewhere to meet someone for a good inexpensive lunch, this is the one.
