Shish Old Street is a busy open plan brasserie style restaurant with its sweep of tables the perfect setting to watch the world go by. Seating is informal and relaxed making it the ideal destination for a quick, delicious, healthy meal at any time of the day. Their trademark style dining bar slithers throughout the floor space allowing you to watch the chefs create your meal on the grills. The restaurant recommend you order your Mezze, accompanied with a fresh bread selection and a drink of your choice, which will be served immediately. Whilst you are enjoying that you can then deliberate over which Shish dishes you wish to order.

Zzzzzzzz... - Shish serves reliably inoffensive, but really uninspiring food. The setting is modern but corporate and without soul. On the plus side, you can seat a lot of people easily, so it is a good place for parties and big group meals, and the lunch meal specials are a fairly good bargain.

Normally I am pleasantly surprised by UK chain food - places like Strada and PizzaExpress, while perhaps not the best deal in town, serve some very decent food. I was hoping that Shish would be similar, but the food is below par, particularly for the area, which already has many better kebab options. The attempts at international fusion kebabs are not worth the time - if you can't do a decent lamb kofte, don't bother with a Szechuan chili beef kebab.
