Love Love Love - Love Proud Camden. Have enjoyed many a night there with friends. Recently (as my boyfriend is feeling more flush) we've been hiring a stable for the evening. This means we get a private area with service and flat screen for sports games, xbox, or sometimes if we're lucky we can grab the Karaoke Stable....so good. It sometimes gets super busy, but i always think, the more the merrier

Hey Ya - This place is fun. It's visually impressive... bring a great crowd and has 2 rooms of DJs and bands as well as an outdoor terrace and bar. Covers all areas --- even a restaurant for club grub.

They have little side areas where you can sit and chill or dance on your own stage... great if you are with a bigger group. Compared to the rest of Camden nice to have a big outdoor area where you don't feel squished.. lots of seating outside for that as well as an indoor/outdoor bit that looks out over the streets.

They make good cocktails in the room up the stairs to the left too!

Proud Galleries - I went to Proud Galleries with friends on a Saturday night for a birthday. We hired our very own stable which is literally a refurbished horses stable. May not sound great but was seriously cool. There was great live music and it was an awesome night out!

Awesome! - I absolutely love Proud Camden! Its arty, young and fresh. It has so much to offer and cant really be compared to a normal bar! Its a horse hospital and that in itself its awesome. The rock n roll exhibition on at present is wicked!! Love it. I am really into photography and this really added to my night out. I went there a few saturdays ago and I had heaps of Fun. There was so much going on and the atmosphere was really energetic and cool. I have been there a few times and have not had any bad experiences! Yes it gets crowded and you need to be prepared but anyone who likes to go out knows that anywhere good is crowded.

horse hospital!? - Proud is one of the coolest places I've been to in london town. It is a wonderful re-invention of an old horse hospital. Housing a gallery, bar and now even an outside terrace for summer drinks, this place has become one of my number one spots to go with my friends. Whether I am there day or night there is always and electric vibe...

What a place! - If your looking for a different place for a night out, this is it. Live music, lots of space and different rooms, and out door space! My friends and i had a really good night out flitting between the rooms and we found a stable free! Considering the amount of people there we did not have to wait long at the bar either, and all the staff were really nice. My new place for nights out in camden i think, definatly recommend it.

Ay yooooooooo - Proud is loads of fun.. it's a beautiful venue to start.... easy to get to and perfect to have dinner around and then head over. The barstaff are all nice to look at, live bands, late night DJs, cosy corners to tuck into, and wicked smoking area. Good for tourists and locals, check out the buskers in the afternoons while enjoying the BBQ and cocktails.

I'm just not sure... - The urbandictionary.com definition of ‘Ritzy’ is: adjective spretentious; elegant; posh: a ritzy neighborhood; a ritzy hotel. A very illustrious description of someone or something.

That’s not the slang definition I know and love. Mine is more derogatory and is usually applied to small-town night clubs, like the one near where I grew up in Essex. ‘It’s a bit of a ritzy’ or, worse, ‘it’s a bit of a ritzy meat market’.

Be @ Proud is clearly not a ritzy; it’s much too cool for that, however the whole time I was there I was unable to shake the feeling that it was a bit like my former Essex local, but a very middle-class version.

The music was good (Blondie, CSS, Northern Soul, Electro…) and the crowd was glamorous but I got the impression that everyone there was checking out everyone else. I suspect it was more to do with trying to find out who was more uber-cool than who, although I’m sure that there was a bit of eyeing-up going on as well.

The venue is what makes this a special place to visit. It’s an art-gallery by day so you’re able to browse the in-situ paintings while you neck over-priced vodka come evening.

You can hire a seating area in one of the former horse houses (do horses have houses? I’m just not sure) which makes for an interesting seating experience but, if you do choose to hang out in that particular room and you’re not fortunate enough to have your own stable, it gets a bit cramped.

The two main rooms are much better, with more space to have a dance-off (read: mock and deride, through the medium of piss-take dancing) with a checked-shirted-ironic-haired Camdenite who was taking himself much too seriously.

There’s also a terrace, as previously mentioned by another reviewer, where you can smoke. Amazingly, and completely unlike almost every other venue I’ve been to this Winter, the patio heaters actually kick out enough heat to prevent you from catching your death of cold.

All in all, I’m not really sure what to make of Proud. Good music, good but (not unexpectedly) over priced drinks. Good company in the form of the people I went with. It just didn’t blow me away this time, but I’ll be happy to give it another try.

Third Time's the Charm - I think that this is the third venue that Proud Camden has inhabited - the first was much smaller and much more like a gallery and when they had parties they had to put a marquee up out back. Then they moved to the stables and the space was massive but it seemed like the gallery was an after thought to some hipster club.

The new venue, right round the corner seems much more blanced. It seems much larger than the previous space but it feels much more like a gallery. There are two main exhibition rooms - I think one for the semi permanent collection and then another for temporary exhibitions.

Its in an old horse hospital so all the seating booths by the bar are inthe actual stables which is a nice touch and there's stone flagging throughout.

There's a nice smoking area out back with some little shelters for when it rains - all in all it seems like Proud have ironed out a bunch of kinks from the previous venues.

The drinks were pricey - £3.50 for a bottle of bud and £3.50 a glass of wine, but hey its a nice place.

Amy who? - [Review based on previous location]

For a guy that doesn't drink, I'm putting a lot of reviews of bars and clubs up....

Anyway, I have to agree with the below review...there's lots of hot girls here. Most of the place is on the roof, and they have comfortable seats, and even mattresses (?), near the back. Once we managed to blag our way in for free by saying we had to just run in to grab some friends and then leave. Then we stayed for about an hour. Sort of naughty, but sort of justified, as the drinks are waaay over priced, so be sure to 'have your fill' elsewhere before moving on here, or do what I do and stick to orange juice.

So it's expensive, but it's really cool inside/outside, pleasing to the eyes. You might even spot the odd famous person here. I base this on one occasion when I met Amy Winehouse. She was with some people we were meeting there, though I didn't know who she was at the time. She was a cool person and it was clear that she really fancied me: she was all over me, laughing at my silly jokes, trying to chat me up all night.

Well, OK, what ACTUALLY happened was she said "Nice to meet you Warren" when we left... I sort of inferred the rest. If by inferred I mean completely made up.

Definitely worth going to, though not on a regular basis.
