Following a £29 million restoration, the Roundhouse has now reopened. The Roundhouse is a north London landmark venue presenting an international programme of high quality events for diverse audiences. At its heart is Roundhouse Studios, a series of state of the art studios, providing a creative environment and the facilities for young people to engage with artists, professionals and their peers in order to develop and realise their creative aspirations.

Capture Camden - Interactive Photography Experience at the Roundhouse Saturday, June 27th

After a popular treasure hunt event in 2008 Shoot Experience are returning to Camden this summer with their unique interactive photographic story-telling experience. Following the resounding success of the debut Shoot Storyboard event at Tate Modern, Capture Camden - an architectural adventure will take the Roundhouse by storm on Saturday, June 27th.

Capture Camden will be a unique architectural Shoot Storyboard event in partnership with the Open House "The Lives of Buildings" weekend and English Heritage as part of the Mayor's Story of London project.

“The Lives of Buildings” weekend presents a great opportunity for the second outing of the new Shoot Storyboard format. Teams begin the day at the Roundhouse, where they are given different parts of a pre-written story and sent into the local streets to find inspiration and take photos that respond to or represent each phrase or word.

At the end of the day all photos are collected and compiled and the tale is revealed through the unique photographic story created by participants’.

Prizes are of course awarded for the best and quirkiest photographs, as participants relax after one of the most fun and creative days to be had in London.

Restoration at it's best! - The Roundhouse Theatre is a must visit venue for all Londoners (and out-of-towners too!). It's such a unique structure (being round) mixing old with new when they restored it several years ago. Lovely old brick but modern and simple decor/fixtures. The accoustics are really good too, being round and all. We've seen several shows/events there including Cat Power, The Nofit State Circus and other quirky performances. You can see some really artistic acts that you wouldn't be able to see elsewhere. The venue is small enough to have a good seat (or spot) and it's always a treat to go out in Camden.

Hot house for Theatre and Music - I went here to see production of "The 7 Fingers" over Christmas which was excellent. Although not new, the recent refurbishment has made the Roundhouse an excellent update to the London Theatre/Live Music scene. The space is fairly small so seats are limited, but on the plus side - you won't feel like you're so far away from the stage, you might as well be watching it on TV. There's a small cafe for snacks downstairs, and a couple of bars, however being in Camden you're quite spoiled for choice if you want to go somewhere for a pre-show drink/bite to eat. The Roundhouse has a fairly eclectic but innovative entertainment line up - a bit of classical, some circus (7 Fingers) and quite a lot of pop muzak - although most of their productions are aimed at an audience younger than your average West End production. Definitely worth a look, but be quick as seats go fast.
