The Angel is a traditional pub that serves a variety of beers, wines and spirits as well as over 100 guest ales throughout the year. They serve a variety of traditional pub dishes and a non smoking area is provided. They have fruit machines and provide outside seating on the pavement.

Surprisingly Good - I never thought I’d write a complementary review of a J D Wetherspoon’s pub, but truth is if you like real ale, these pubs are some of the best. The international real ale festival is currently on so they have an amazing selection on tap, and FOR ONLY £1.69 a pint. I suggest getting half pints so you can taste your way around. It turns out Wetherspoon have renowned commitment to real ale, and are a big supporter of micro-breweries which is really cool. Another + The Angel had 2 hot female staff (at the time of my visit) who know about and drank the ales on tap. And maybe the best part they open at 09:00!

Note the low prices and early hours make for a strange crowd, though I didn’t mind. 04-11-08
