Snotty service - I went to Carluccio's with a friend and despite the fact that the place was half empty, they sat us at a table for two off in the darkest corner of the restaurant.

When we complained, they said they had to keep the tables for four for groups of four. However, they could have just separated two tables for two to give us better seating.

As our time there wore on, the place did get busier, but they ended up seating couples at tables for four.

The food was good.

I had linguini with shrimp, calamari and mussels. I asked if I could have it without the calamari and the server said I could, but then brought it with the calamari.

When my friend asked if I wanted cheese on it, the server went into a rant about how as an Italian the very idea of cheese on this particular type of pasta offended him. I didn't bother asking for it, but in retrospect I wish I had.

My friend had breaded chicken, which she liked.

The servers also wear stupid little hats. 31-01-09
