Persian Paradise - Colbeh in Persian means shack but this little BYO Iranian restaurant just off Edgware Road, tucked into the posh shopping area on Connaught Street but very friendly and not at all intimidating, is so much more. They've a proper tandoor over at the front where they fresh bake naan bread and serve awesome, simple but perfectly cooked kebabs, excellent limey stew and I'd recommend the mixed cold starter, comprising bread and diverse dips - watch out for that yoghurt, though. Tis spicy. Imagine that! Top off your filling meal (you'll get a mountain of rice, delicately saffron tinged) with some tea and Persian ice cream or sorbet and stare in disbelief at the bill. Love it. 08-01-09
