Cantina Del Ponte is the sister restaurant of the neighbouring Pont De La Tour. The menu is Continental and the daily set menus offer good value for money. The wine list is standard Conran and offers a wide choice. Service is crisp, polite, yet friendly. They can cater for private parties of up to 125 people and provide outside seating on the terrace.

Cantina Del Ponte London Reviews

On the Waterfront - It didn't hurt that I ate outside on one of the warmest nights of the year overlooking the Thames, but I quite enjoyed my dinner at Cantina del Ponte. It also didn't hurt that I wasn't paying because the prices are a wee bit on the steep side.

Some dishes were better than others: I had a great octopus and farro salad and a delicious fresh papardelle main course, but one of my dinner companions got an unappetizing bowl of spaghetti that was drowning in a pool of melted butter and garnished only with black pepper -- seriously not impressive and a mystery why it was on the menu in the first place. The desserts were solid, with a great tiramisu (hard to go wrong) and a nice panna cotta with pickled cherries. There are certainly better bargains to be had, and the service is spotty like at the other Conran restaurants, but you won't go too wrong by eating here (as long as you skip the butter-drenched spaghetti, and bonus if someone else is paying).

Terence CON-ran - This place is expensive, the staff are listless and the food isn't as good as Zizzi's over the road. It used to be a great mediterranian eatery back in 1996 but since then it's turned into an overpriced pizzeria. Yes you can eat by the river, but apart from that it's very disappointing. It's part of Conran's Shad Thames trio including Pont de la Tour and the Chop House, and like the other two it charges like a wounded Rhino and the food is average. Definately one to avoid unless you have a thing for terracotta tiles and watching the chefs assembling a salad. Last time I went the wait for the bill after the meal was over took about half an hour, and when it came they took another twenty minutes to actually process my payment.
