Criminals!!!! - We went in with a little excited 7 year old bridesmaid-to-be on 3rd July and time was spent exiting her further trying on, measuring up and taking full payment of £160 in advance to 'have the dress made'

Visiting the shop again at the end of july just three weeks later the shop is empty, the owner cleared off and brown paper covering the windows

The manufacturers of the dress tell us the following:

They have the dress ordered but have never received payment from Heather at Carisma Brides (AKA MyGown.net)

They can supply the dress for £85 (standard price) (A further £85 in our case)

It is not made to order, but one size and off the shelf

Heather would have known on 3rd July that her business was closing down, that she would be letting down and ruining peoples wedding plans and smashing their dreams

She had another party in the shop at the same time kitting out the bride, and four bridesmaids ...taking full payment off them as well

My partner had already bought a dress elsewhere but Heather pestered her on the phone days after the visit and purchase of the one bridesmaid dress urging her to buy her wedding dress there as well ...clearly pushing to get in as much money as she could in the days leading up to her doing a runner with everyones cash

Cruel, heartless and as crooked as they come .... I just wish we could track her down, maybe one day we will!!

Excellent service A***** - I have used Heather several times for myself and friends / family and have always been really delighted with her service. Her attention to detail is exemplary - I wish more people in this industry were like Heather. I took my sister to visit Heather last week and she got a ball gown which makes her look absolutely stunning! Thank you!

Chosen dress was just the ticket! - I've walked past Carisma Brides plenty of times and always thought it looked like a lovely shop. I'd been to a wedding fair at the NEC and picked out a dress that I liked, I'd even put down a deposit. But the week after when I was walking down the street doing my weekly shop, I thought I'd pop in. In amongst the amazing bridal gowns in the shop I found 'the dress' that was to die for! It was so unique and I knew I just had to have it. Straight away I cancelled my other dress and placed an order with Carimsa Brides. 6 weeks later my dress was ready to pick up from the shop. I tried it on and it fitted like a glove. It could'nt have been more perfect. My husband was blown away by how I looked on the day. Thank you Heather and everyone else at Carisma - You made my day very memorable!

Fantastic service for my prom - I recently had a school prom for my final year at secondary school. My mum had given me a bit of cash to spend on my prom outfit. I went to Carisma and Heather sat me down, listened to all of my wishes and helped me select the appropriate dresses and accessories from her stunning collection.
In the end I purchased and incredibly beautiful pink ball gown with matching shoes, shawl and tiara.
Heather was very good at helping whittle down the available dresses and accessories. She provides a very personal and tailored service. Carisma have some amazing bridal gowns in stock - I wish I was getting married soon - then I'd have another excuse to go and spend some time in there!
If you need a dress or accessories for a prom or wedding definitely pay Carisma a visit - it'll be well worth your time!

Disappointing experience. - This shop looked lovely from the outside and as bridesmaid I was looking forward to visiting with the B2B to find the perfect dress, unfortunately even if this dress had been in the shop I would not have encouraged my friend to buy it. The service was arrogant and pushy (overwhelmingly the staff were desperate for a sale). I would recommend if they are so intent on sales they improve their customer care skills as they managed to convey extreme disinterest and yet still pushing for a sale. The room is cramped - they expected us to wait for a changing room other than that behind the counter next to the kitchen despite having an appointment. I do not appreciate being spoken to like a lower being and would strongly recomment to any bridesmaid looking to shop with the bride and have an enjoyable day MISS THIS OUT. Romantica in Kenilworth were fantastic btw and should definately worth a visit.

Ignore the bad reviews, excellent!! - I can't believe the reviews i'm reading about this shop. I recently went to carisma with my sister to buy her wedding dress, the service we recieved could not have been better,the staff were very friendly and eager to help. Is it possible that all these girls are from the same party? I realise everyone is entitled to thier opinion but it seems to me, as seems to happen with many shops these days, that they possibly had no intention of buying from carisma? because another local shop has also recently become a seller of dessy dresses. This other shop appears to undercut everybody in the area, which although its good for the bride can't be sustainable for a business. I for one would prefer a better, more reliable service to one that cuts corners, somthing i can't fault carisma for.

The reality of this shop - I cannot belive some of the comments made about such a profesional company. I had my daughters prom dress from here and recieved excellent service. Added to that, i am about to start looking for a wedding gown for myself(thats how i found these reviews...no conspiracy here!) and, make no mistake, i will be visiting Charisma.
What i don't understand is this, if you have a problem with service from anywhere, don't you address it with the person concerned? you can do this using your freedom of speech calmly, politly and in a way that reflects your character, but perhaps your character demands a diva pedestal to shout from, where you can be offered no reconciliation. This always makes me wonder how the writer conducted themselves as a customer.
No company where business is passed by word of mouth would knowingly damage their own reputation.
I recomened that you visit this shop as i will, i am sure you will experience excellent customer care. Lets be grown up abpout it.

Disappointing - I’ve never seen such polarised opinion before.

I was expecting politeness and someone being interested in helping me. I’m not a diva, and I have simple requirements; people who are friendly and helpful. Instead I got the distinct feeling I was a nuisance and that they couldn’t be bothered because they thought there was a small risk I might go elsewhere. Surely that applies to everyone, because we all have plenty of choice about the shops we use and can always change our minds before we sign on the dotted line? Surely effort should go into securing the sale rather than pushing the person away, irrespective?

If I’d been made to feel welcome, I’d have been willing to purchase, simple as that. They’ve just missed out on business from me, and I’m reassured to see I’m not the only one who’s had problems.

Incidentally, I’m finding it highly entertaining that some of the most over the top and verbose positive reviewers feel the need to claim there’s a conspiracy theory and be rude about other people providing comments on this website! What happened to freedom of speech?

Can’t you just accept that different people have different opinions and experiences?

Given that every strongly negative review seems to be immediately followed by a strongly positive one, which is also dismissive of the people who are unhappy, maybe the same suspicions could apply to the positive feedback?! Have you been hoisted by your own petard?! I guess we’ll never know…

ignore the bad reviews, great shop! - I can't even begin to compliment Heather and Judi enough for the fantastic service they have given me!

I am pretty sure that the girls who have written bad reviews are competitors trying to damage Carisma's name as I haven't met 2 nicer people! You know what really makes me doubt the reviews is that they're all so vicious and all written around the same time frame...seems very suspicious to me!!!

From the second I walked into the shop, to the final fitting the service was absolutely second to none!

When you go shopping for your wedding dress you expect to be made to feel really special. Its the first purchase I made and I was so excited, and my experience of Carisma was exactly how I imagined the experience to be.

I too came across this site when I searching for Carisma's number after a recommendation and I couldn't believe what people were writing after I had not 1 but 2 recommendations from friends and family.

You honestly couldn't have a better service, the shop is gorgeous, the range is great and the after sales service is fantastic. My alterations were done quickly and to the highest standard, and whenever I had questions they were answered quickly...calls always returned unlike the bad reviews on here.

I definitely wouldn't trust bad reviews....there are a lot of troublemakers out there and if you go there yourself, you will see within minutes that the bad reviews are clearly 100% lies.

Heather and Judi....thanks again....I am so excited about my wedding and you were a big part of the planning process :)

Beautiful shop - I visited carisma Last weekend and thought their service for brilliant. They have a wide range of beautiful dresses to fit everyone's tastes and as for the bad comments I felt welcomed into the shop and their service with me was wonderful. I suggested what I was looking for and they recommended me to some dresses.
I would recommend anyone to go to carisma when looking for a dress.

Dreadful Overall Experience - I had a dreadful experience with Carisma Brides. I purchased four bridesmaid dresses from the shop which were all ordered far too big, despite the bridesmaids being measured by the staff at the shop. This resulted in every dress needing to be taken in drastically and we were then charged for the alterations by the hour!! The alterations bill was £145.25 in addition to the cost of the dresses!!

On every occasion that we visited the shop we found the staff rude, arrogant and most discourteous! I would recommend all steer clear!

would highly reccommend - I went to carisma looking for a prom dress and received a great service from the staff, who were more than happy to help me choose the right style, colour and size. The whole experience was stress free and i received my dress well in time for my prom.

I would definatley reccommend people to use Carisma when looking for great dresses and a great service. Thanks!

shock, 5 star service. - I have come across this tipped website while trying to find out the phone number of Carisma brides from their website. I am shocked to see such bad comments about the shop that I personally received top quality service from. My wedding was earlier this month and during the months up to the wedding I would look forward to visiting the shop to try my dress on. The service I received was so warm and friendly.I just cant understand these other previously posted comments from other girls as the experience i had could not of been more different. I felt so strongly about this i have made an account on tipped just to comment.

My advice: try this shop for yourself , don't just believe what is written because in my case the comments on this website completely contradict my own experience and im'e sure many others aswell.

Great service - I think the three girls all know each other and are all getting together being nasty about Heather, i myself have used Heather several times for friends and family and have always been thrilled with her service. I suggest these girls need to get a life and stop being so horrible. A very satisfied customer.

excellant service - i can not believe what has been written on a reveiw at carisma ??? there are some awfull brides out there who are spoilt vile girls with no experience in life ??? the bridesmaid could only try the dress on 17 days before the wedding she is lucky to get her dress after what has happened at cristals bridal salon.if all those girls have nothing better to do than sit round and talk about the supposed ill treatment i simply can not understand it,and i hope heather takes legal advice about this as there are always two sides to every story

Fab Dresses, Great Service - I had a Bridal Gown and Bridesmaids Dresses from
Carisma Bride for my Wedding on the 29th August
this year. I had a very good experience with the shop both on alterations and service. What is most relevant is that I was late arriving for
my appointment with my bridesmaids on the
Saturday in July mentioned in Victoria K's review.
Our train was late and Heather and Judi were most
accomodating, although when another party arrived
for their appointment the Bride, who I can only
presume is Victoria K was extremely annoyed acting with a beligerant attitude towards the assistant who was trying to accomodate everyone at once. I was most embarrassed.The girls and myself offered to get dressed and return at
a more convenient time. The other Bride was most
insistant that she be served immediately as her
parking fee was about to run out and her bridesmaid had come all the way from Essex!
It must be very difficult to run a shop and keep
everybody happy especially when someone has put on weight and the dress doesn't fit!
It just goes to show,don't believe all you read!

beautiful dress, but buy elsewhere - they have beautiful dresses, but the service is challenging-phone calls aren't returned, services included in the price have to be fought for and it was just generally added totally unnecessary stress. Save yourself the pain!

Avoid this shop at all costs!!!! - The owner of this shop herself told my friend that the only service of this shop is to do alterations!! We certainly found that out the hard way. Apparantly if the dresses you ordered from this shop arrive in the wrong size, then that is your own fault! If you then need an altered dress to be forwarded to a UK home address then Heather will certainly make sure she does nothing to ensure speed or good customer service. The woman really needs to learn some customer service skills. If you are a young bride to be then please give this shop a miss as Heather is only interested in dealing with your mother!!!

succesfull visit - i visited carisma with my daughter,and found heather helpfull and a wealth of information,
we bought a wedding dress from her,and have made
an appointment to veiw bridesmaids dresses,
i can not understand how heather has had so much
bad critism from some of her customers,and feel
these girls all know each other and are all not
very nice girls,who think the world revolves
around them,we were delighted with heather and
her lovely shop.and we would highly reccomend
carisma to anybody getting married.

A satisfied bride - I brought my wedding dress from Heather at carisma bridal, the whole experience was delightful, her service was exceptional and i couldn't fault her in any way. Saturdays in a bridal shop are always very busy, which i know as i have had work experience within that environment, everybody comes at the same time and wants to be served at once. Most samples are supplied in sizes 8, 10 and 12, this can be very irritating to the shop keeper, but i must reitterate i was very satistfied with the service from carisma, and i will recomend Heather highly.

Beautiful range of gowns - My experience with this store was a positive one. The range of dresses was fantastic; they had more varied styles than you find in some other shops. I also appreciated the honesty of the service I received: I didn't want a superficial fuss making of me, just nice dresses, and an honest opinion. Admittedly I had to try on dresses below my dress size, but hear from my friends that this is common in bridal shops: they can't stock every dress in every size and typically you take a size smaller with bridal dresses due to the fit of them, anyway. Other people's reviews nearly put me off going to this place but I was glad I did go

Never been so insulted!!! - I went into this shop as a size 16 lady who wanted a bridesmaid dress. I am not originally from Leamington Spa, and so the lady - Heather - may have thought I was not serious about buying a dress as I was on my own. But my goodness - she looked me up and down - and was totally insulting in her manner and I actually burst into tears after leaving her shop! When she did finally show me some catalogues of dresses and I mentioned the ones I liked, she proceeded to bring out size 10's and 12's for me to try on!!??
The worst experience ever. I think this woman should seriously consider gong for customer service training. I was going to complain, but i recently found out (from the shop where I actually purchased my dress from) that this woman is the owner - so I guess there is not much point in that - all I can do is advise people not to go there. particularly prospective brides - goodness only knows how they would feel - I was only the bridesmaid after all.

Bad experience at Carisma - I have also had a poor experience at carisma. They didnt keep to the appt I made and instead tended to another B2B who had arrived late for her appt prior to mine by 40 mins!!.. My bridesmaid and I were shoved in the 'changing room' in between the counter and the kitchen - it was so small that I actually ended up in the kitchen whilst my bridesmaid tried on dresses.

I was so annoyed that we ended up walking out. I waited until I calmed down and then spoke to Heather about what had happened. She was not in the slightest bit apologetic and implied it was my fault for booking a Saturday appt. Nonetheless I rebooked for the following week and lo and behold, it was like Deja Vu.. same lack of service, friendliness and attention.

I went straight to the Bridal Boutique in Warwick where I couldnt have asked for better service. That same day I bought my wedding dress from Bridal Boutique and have never looked back.

GREAT DRESSES, GREAT SERVICE - I recently purchased my bridesmaids dresses from Carisma and i have to say that i totally disagree with what has been posted previously. Me and my bridesmaids were delighted with the dessy dresses. Only one fitting was required and they fitted perfectly and looked stunning. In fact i was that impressed i have now gone back and ordered myself an evening dress for a friends wedding. I also ended up getting my own wedding shoes & jewellery from Carisma and was very impressed with both.

I found Heather and olwyn to be really friendly and honest- which is what you need- and we ended up having a really good laugh with them.
I would highly recommend this shop.

Absolutely awful! - I am glad I did not actually end up here for my dress. I went in and the woman in there did not understand what I was asking for and made me feel as though I were being completetely unreasonable. I then went back for bridesmaids dress fitting and my mother ended up having a disagreement with her! Ended up going somewhere else in Warwick and had a joyful experience. I feel sorry for people who had to deal with this shop.

Not a good experience - I was contacted by Tipped to redo my review of this shop as the owner of the shop did not agree with my previous opinion. Therefore I think it only fair that I rewrite my review to be less emotive and simply state that my experience with this shop was not a good one and would advise anyone against going here for their wedding dress.

Highly Recommended - This is such a fabulous shop... Heather and Olwyn were so kind and helped me so very much. The selection for both my dress and for my bridesmaids was brilliant and they made my whole wedding experience so much easier and less stressful! I highly recommend carisma for the personal but professional experience!
