I ordered a portion of lemon chicken, crispy chilli beef, seaweed and a Diet Coke - so I qualified for delivery. My chicken was raw, the beef was cold and the Coke was full fat, not diet. When I rang Fortune House I was told they were busy and wouldn't be able to replace my order. Which was ok with me, as I was no longer in the mood for Chinese food. The lady I spoke to then suggested re-frying my chicken, which seemed silly to me as I'd ordered a take away so I didn't have to cook and also whilst I'm not a professional chef, this seemed a highly suspect thing to do to some chicken whose origin I wasn't sure of. I was then told to wait for a minute. 4 minutes later I was told that the fryers were very hot so my chicken wasn't raw and my beef wasn't cold. Unfortunately the raw chicken was still in front of me at this point begging to differ. The beef was also now stone cold, but that may have had something to do with the 15 minutes it took to place my call. I was politely informed that Fortune House would take my address and that the next time I ordered they would ensure my food was 'extra hot'. And I believe they said something about £5.00 off, although as the connection was very poor I may have misheard.
As I won't be ordering from this establishment again, raw chicken not being my idea of a good meal I will never know if I was entitled to £5.00 off. For anyone else ordering tonight, be aware that they're very busy, but they're saving time in dispatching orders by only partially cooking them. On the plus side, the can of Coke that I ordered is nicely chilled. Shame it wasn't actually what I ordered.
