Exceptional experience - Having been to the restaurant twice now, this is in our opinion on eof the best Indian meals i have had. Great food, truely gracious and polite staff, and good all round atmosphere.
It has had alot of hype following the Ramsay exposure, lets face it, they are always busy. One things that hits you when you are there is the unique food, its Indian food, but more flavour, you can smell the spices coming off the plate...not your avaerage Western curry.
You dont want to swollow the food as it tastes that good. Well worth a visit as its reputation does live up to its name as East Midlands Best 2008. Owner told me he is opening in Hammersmith later this year/early Jan 09. He will definately have me as a regular. 07-12-08

Bring back Gordon! - I first visited The Curry lounge a couple of years ago pre-Gordon Ramsey. It was empty, but the food was good.

I of course, visited again expectin even better after Gordon Ramsey had been & shook the place up -they advertise the fact outside!

Unfortunately, I could not have been more disappointed. My curry was so bad -very watery & flavourless -that I did not eat it & just ate the rice! My family were very confused as I had brought them there as I had told them it was so good the last time, but they said it was the worst curry they had ever had.

Have not been back, & will not ever go back there. I heard that the chef that was there when Gordon Ramsey visited left soon after, hence the decline in quality, but who knows?

If you like a GOOD curry then there are 2 much better places only 5 minutes walk away... 10-10-08
