Cafe Rouge is a chain of Brasserie-style restaurants serving a range of light meals and drinks within a French atmosphere. There is a large choice of dishes as well as hot and cold drinks which makes this restaurant a good stop off point for tea and snacks rather than grand dinners.

I like to wait but I don't LOVE it. - I went into this Cafe Rouge a few months ago so my view might be a tad out of date but regardless of that, I found it a rather poor experience.

The sole reason at the time, a Friday night waiting for a film to start and with one hour to kill, my boyfriend and I decided to go for a drink and maybe something to cure the low blood sugar.

We waited forever to be approached in the first place and order, then forever and a day for the order to actually arrive and pay for it all at the end. It really must have been a bad time as they were probably changing shifts; the person serving our drinks was not the person who brought the receipt and the place wasn't even half full.

It might be a decent food place with nice meals at lunchtime but otherwise it's too lazy for my tastes. The dessert I wanted was on the menu but they didn't really have any left either. 13-02-09
