these people are to be avoided - This building society is a disgrace.
Rude and unhelpful staff in the mortgage team. over sold at cheap rates so were positively obstructive in the process to the point where our purchase almost fell through. hidden charges soon mount up to what you would have saved.
Employees lied to us about important dates and details of the application to later back track. blamed the broker we were using for not submitting paperwork in time when it had already been confirmed as received in time by another member of staff. At one point i was told if i didn't like the speed of the service i should consider another lender.
the supposed solicitor that they insist you use has a policy that they will not respond to any correspondence until 48 hours have passed.
it was a battle at every turn. do not use these people.
