The Worlds End London Reviews

evening live concert - It's a big place close to the camden town tube station. You can enter for free and enjoy the music (usually rock & punk) often played live in the evening. There are two floors, you should prefer to be upstairs if you want speak easy.

Just about bearable - Can't say I'm a big fan of this place, so I only really visit it when I need tickets for gigs at Underworld.

Tried popping in there on a Saturday night one time. Music was a bit dodgy, and my girlfriend asked if we could leave, due to the leery nature of a lot of the "blue jeans brigade" around us. Like any of them would have had a chance with my pvc clad Gothic angel anyway...Oh, and in response to the previous reviewer, you obviously know nothing about Goths if you think we all have long hair. And we are in fact less likely to be expelled from a premises than members of any other social group.

The Guinness is ok, but the Dry Blackthorn is rank. Haven't even tried the food, so won't comment. And I find that the use of the gents toilet is optional. Take a look for yourself to find out just why it's "optional".

Big Camden Mainstay - The Worlds End is a massive pub, and a mainstay in the area. Located across the street from the tube station, this place attracts large crowds on the weekend, and has a late license, slinging suds into the later hours. Even after the pub closes up shop after midnight the attached nightclub, Underworld, stays open into the wee hours, which is a nice bonus.

The main pub, however, is my preferred venue of the two. It is quite sizable, with a couple rooms and a massive bar that sort of splits the middle between them all. There is also a nice elevated platform with about a dozen tables that gives a great opportunity to survey the scene below.

And the scene is certainly one to behold. There is quite a mixture to be seen, from the punks and goths to hipsters and tourists, and they all seem to manage to mingle or at least civilly ignore each other. In any case, there are usually some hefty bouncers on hand to headbutt the hipsters and drag the goths away by their long hair. All in all a worthy place to visit in Camden, and any pub with its own Wikipedia page has got to be something!
