The End is a night club that hosts a series of different nights with live DJs playing all types of dance music. Thursday is mixed gay night. On Fridays they play Drum n Base, Saturdays it is House or Techno and they play Garage and R & B on Sundays (no trainers or ripped jeans). The styling of the club is minimalist and futuristic with an unprecedented attention to detail. They have a spring-loaded dance floor and a state-of-the-art Thunder Ridge sound system.

The End London Reviews

Between soulful and tek - The End deserves some praise not least because it didn't hassle anybody wearing a hat and because it has one of the tightest and dryest bass sound systems in the city, which makes it very good indeed for anything that is a bit more tribal and tek. Crowd is mixed depending on the DJ, who might play anything from soulful house (MN2S), deep house (Buzzin Fly) or deepish, electro infused minimal house (SuperFreq). It is a mid sized club in the basement and on some days there is a direct connection to AKA bar through a stairway, which makes is really more interesting as people, music and vibe may be very different upstairs or downstairs. Bar staff is friendly and professional, queues, however and waiting is always a bit part of the experience. The lounge allows a bit more direct interaction with the DJ and is more informal, the big room flatters the DJs ego who is right in the middle of everything and sourrounded by tons of amps, mixers, monitor speakers, VJ equipment and other gear. A wall splits the big room basically in half, finding the right spot is a bit of a trial and error exercise until sound is right (bare brick walls are not ideal for sound reproduction and can create holes, interferences and spots with too much volume) also the flow of people around can be annoying in some places when it is busy. The End is the only serious club in the centre (to my humble opinion at least), and close to a tube station (Holborn), which is simply much more practical than Kings X area or the East (for somebody like me living in the South West at least). Becoming an adhoc member on the night can give you 50% discount on some nights (SuperFreq), DJ luminaries play in the club all the time, tekki electroish sounds seem to dominate (Sven Vaeth, Layo and Bushwacka, Clive Henry, Ben Watt, Chris Woodward and Justin Martin among others) but also Kenny Dope, CJ Mackintosh and other less tekki house DJs play there (I suppose almost everybody has played there at least once). I would say the club works, sound is great and no real downsides, so it is up to the DJ in The End. Dollz at Play on Sunday night could be fun if you like to support female DJs playing, good music and taking Monday mornings off.
