The grimest Post- office in London! - I live above this post office so it should be quick and convenient for me to use however the interior is so grim and the staff so rude that I would rather cycle to the Aldywich post office 6 miles away which is clean and well staffed as opposed to entering this depressing and dreary space.
On entering Stroudley Walk post office the general impression is one of post-nuclear abandonment: the post- apocalyptic, filthy hall with it's broken interior windows, patched up with cardboard, the leaking ceiling that has left the paint work damp and peeling, the poles used to designate a queuing area are broken and lurch haphazardly across the middle of the post office waiting area.
For some reason there is a massive photo booth near the door that could double up as an interrogation chamber.
The staff show nothing but contempt for the customers and throw their parcels carelessly around.
There is never enough staff and the manager a miserable patriarch is rude and forbidding.
Location scouts should consider this place for Ken Loach or Mike Leigh films.
I feel sorry for the elderly, disabled and families that are forced to use this dump, it is menacing and depressing.
