I'd say the Lowry is actually good value. I've stayed in a few Rocco Forte chain hotels and this one is one of the more reasonably-priced in my opinion.
Location is good - easy walking distance to Deansgate and The Living Room, the hotel is a bit pricey for drinks but nothing compared to what you would shell out in an equivalent in London. Recommended.
