Its the tube, but it could be worse

Sure, it's a tube station so it brings up annoying thoughts of overly crowded, sweaty, uncomfortable commuting. It is also underground and may even harbor some scuttling rodents. Fair enough. But for a tube station, you could do worse than Holborn. For one thing, the platform walls sport interesting metal panels that evoke some of the more famous collections of the nearby British Museum. Plus, with both the Central and Piccadilly lines, this station is reasonably well connected to the rest of the underground system. It's also pretty commuter friendly in some respects - there are several coffee shops immediately outside the station as well as a Krispy Kreme, and the news agent just in front of the main entrance has a great selection of continental newspapers and magazines. Also, did you know that those massive escalators at Holborn are the second-longest in the Underground?
