On my first visit to the Colomb art gallery I was taken back by what I found nestled with in this cosy little building. This amazing gallery may be missed as it is not on any main highroads, but then this adds to its beauty, it takes you away from all the hustle and bustle of the west end and provides peace and tranquillity with harmonious melodies playing in the background, thus providing the perfect ambience to view the work within. The building itself is very deceiving it appears to only have one small room upstairs, but alas the stairs in the back lures you in to another level of art work.
The work I found within the colomb art gallery had great diversity, from classical finely tuned landscapes to contemporary, bright canvases filled with emotion and very unique styles. I feel that the balance of artwork fits just right as they all seem to have their own space so it is possible to view each piece individually not just as a whole.
The facilities available at the gallery are also impressive, they offer an extensive range of framing and restoration work.
One of the most important things about the gallery is that they do their best to promote up and coming British artists who are looking for a breakthrough into the art world.
