Recent reports are saying Gordon has dropped the ball a bit with his empire due to his numerous TV appearances, but I have great memories of this place. The French food was exquisite and the service second to none - the ratio of waiters to diners seemed to be about 3:1. True it's expensive, but then we were there for a birthday and therefore excited and appreciative of the food and surroundings (unlike the jaded businessmen on expenses at the table next to us). Nothing was too demanding for the staff, and when we tipsily requested to see the kitchen they gave us a full tour, amused at our references to Demi-glace and La Fromagerie Cheese. At the end of the evening they packed us off with a big box of chocolates and Gordon’s driver drove us home, treating us to stories along the way.
