Went to see Trentemoller last night at The Forum.

It was the most spiritual experience of my life.

The place is good. It's a standard gig venue...foyer area when you walk in, then big room, sound-guy-area in the middle of the room, bars down the sides, toilets at the back, balconys above.

Drink prices were standard, it was £3 a pint and £5 a double vodka.

So watching Trentemoller was amazing, really good gig, sound and lighting was all good. Then at the end, while standing in the queue to the cloakroom, I got chatting to the couple behind me.

They made me an offer: "Do you want these passes to the VIP party upstairs? Trentemoller will be there, and there's free beer".

I accepted their terms, and called my flatmate Dave, who is the biggest Trentemoller fan in the world. The conversation went something like this:

Me: Come back inside
Dave: What?
Me: I'm in the queue for the cloakroom. Come here.
Dave: What? No way. I'm outside.
Me: Do you want to meet Trentemoller?
Dave: I'm coming.

Then I turned my head and he was stood there. It was THAT fast.

Dave honourably gave his pass to his brother Maxud, and the two of us went up to the VIP party. Maxud informed me Trentemoller was standing right in front of us. I go over to him, explain how I enjoyed the gig, and Maxud and I got our photos taken. He was extremely cool and handled his beers well.

Then Maxud gave his pass to Dave, who went upstairs, met him and got his photo taken too. So everyone was happy! The three of us form a triangle of people who have met Trentemoller - a Mollangle.

What really impressed me about The Forum - if all the above was not enough - was their fine tuned admission policy. The gig was sold out, yet there were enough people to create a warm fuzzy atmosphere, while leaving enough room to do things like dance and breathe. They got it spot on. It was not chaos. It was a playground.

So this is the scene, you have a monster night on friday.

Wake up saturday afternoon with a brain tumor, telling yourself you're never going to touch booze again.

Get invited by your even rougher mates to another 'small' shindig, have a few numbers, and after a few ready to rock and roll once again, back on the horse, pull an all nighter, and bang! its sunday morning 9am, and at this moment if you are thinking ah, i need a place to get loose?

Then my friend, i have the answer.

Do yourself a big favour and go to the Church. Hop on the northern line and head north. The queue starts getting big at around 11am. Dont be afraid of the freaks in the queue, you will be looking just as bad, if you followed the steps above.

Anyway, the service starts at midday, so dont be late. Some may say this is sacrilege, yea i suppose. But it is something you have to do before you die.

They serve beers in plastic packets, the floor is covered in saw dust, there are people going mental. They play all the antipodean type 'land down under' type tracks. They have strippers on the stage, the trashiest place i have ever seen. But that kind of stuff makes for a good experience.

And then whilst not realising that you are still in the middle of the day, 4pm arrives and the place shuts down. So drunk..again, you are thinking to yourself, this is stupid, you then head on over to the She Bu(Shepherds Bush) Walkabout. To find more filthy brainless legends joining you in your quest for...something.

Hedonistic? perhaps, well anyway, the Walkabout actually does close, but if you are an extra special 'hero' of the day, you will head on down to the redback, for a sunday night all nighter, and then be ready for work on monday? Who are these people?

Let me know if you try this and dont enjoy it.
